Tier 1 · Module 01
Unprepared Speaking
Speak on any topic, on the spot, without freezing.
Why it matters
Most people find it hard to speak without preparation. What comes out doesn't match what they know: their opinions, expertise, descriptions and emotions all arrive blurred.
This module fixes that with one activity, the JAM, pushed through five progressions until speaking powerfully on the spot feels natural.
The Activity
How it works
JAMs, done differently
A Just A Minute usually gives you a topic, a minute to prepare and a minute to speak. Here there's no preparation and no time limit. You start the moment you hear the topic, and keep going until you have nothing left to say.
Progressions
Five progressions, practised until they're yours.
Flow
Start immediately and stop only when you're done. Stumble, repeat yourself, lose the thread: slow down, breathe and keep going. That's how I see your blocks clearly and give sharper feedback. Early on you don't need to be logical or even stay on topic. Use it as a launchpad to what you care about most. The goal is a conversation so engaging that neither of us remembers where it started.
QS
I signal topic switches with visual cues while you're mid-flow. You learn to change direction on demand, smoothly.
Deep
Higher-stakes topics: ones you care about, and know other people do too. Flowing gets harder, and that's the point.
Impact Flow
Structures that make your stories, points, ideas and emotions land harder and stay longer.
Small Talk into Conversation
You get a conversation point from your field or interests, then a random topic to start on immediately. Your job is to steer from one to the other, organically and subtly, and end with impact. You learn to lead any conversation with purpose.
